Before Anton/Bauer® engineers sketched the new Digital Battery Series, the company invited Covestro and other material suppliers to help determine the best material with a UL 94 V-2 flammability rating for the application.

Our Bayblend® FR3010 PC+ABS blend resin not only passed the company’s rigorous technical testing, it also excelled in a harsher real-world test.

Anton/Bauer® testers put the resin in a thermal chamber and lowered the temperature to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit. They then took out the material and hit it with hammers, nails and other objects. The plastic did not fail. They ultimately chose Bayblend® FR3010 PC+ABS blend grade for its flame retardance, impact resistance and other performance properties.

Covestro material experts worked closely with Anton/Bauer® engineers to provide a material worthy of their rugged batteries. The Anton/Bauer® engineering team also utilized Covestro’s state-of-the-art Color & Design facility in Newark, Ohio. Our color experts quickly and efficiently color matched the Pantone color numbers needed by Anton/Bauer®.
