Cardiac Science Corporation wanted to update the technology and design of its next-generation Powerheart® G5 automated external defibrillator (AED). The company sought a material that offered strength, impact resistance and an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) flame rating.

The company chose Bayblend® FR3010 resin from Covestro for its excellent impact performance, overall strength and UL flame rating of 94 V-0. It also offers high heat resistance.

The corporate color palette for Cardiac Science, a global leader in external defibrillation, diagnostic devices and monitoring systems, was color-matched using pre-colored plastics created via LEDA® compounded color technology from Covestro. The company’s unique and distinct orange and gray corporate color hues were matched at Covestro’s Color Competence and Design center.
