Makrolon® WB1239 polycarbonate from Covestro is formulated specifically for production of high-capacity water bottles which offers several advantages over glass and other materials.

Weighing just 750 grams, a five-gallon water bottle made from Makrolon® WB1239 polycarbonate is 85 percent lighter than similar size glass bottles. This makes maneuvering the water bottles much easier.

What’s more, the material also fulfills all the requirements placed on polycarbonate for food contact applications worldwide. The bottles are also highly transparent, making it easy to check the fill level and quality of the contents.

Last but not least, water bottles made from Makrolon® WB1239 polycarbonate can be cleaned and refilled up to 100 times or more, allowing drinking water to be efficiently distributed – a key advantage for the water-cooler sector.
